Postdoc
Giulia obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry with honors from the University of Insubria (Como) in 2019. She then earned her Master’s degree in Chemistry, also with honors, from the same university in 2021. Subsequently, she moved to the University of Milan, where she began her PhD in Chemistry (XXXVII cycle).
She completed her PhD in 2024, earning the additional distinction of “Doctor Europaeus”. During her doctoral studies, she spent six months at the CERMAV (Centre de Recherches sur les Macromolécules Végétales) – CNRS in Grenoble, France, working in the Structural and Molecular Glycobiology group.
After completing her PhD, she began a research fellowship at the University of Milan, working on the PRIN project “Patho-blockers as a new option to counteract bacterial infection” (CUP: G53D23003270006).
In 2025, she was awarded the “Most Meritorious Runner-up for the 2025 EFMC-YSN PhD Prize,” sponsored by Selvita, conferred by the Young Scientists Network of the European Federation for Medicinal Chemistry (EFMC-YSN).
That same year, she began a research position at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Milan.
