Full professor
Paola Conti is Full Professor of Medicinal Chemistry at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Milan.
She graduated in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology in 1995 and received her PhD in Medicinal Chemistry in 1999 at the University of Milan. After a Post-Doc in the Drug Discovery Group directed by Prof. A. P. Kozikowski, at the Georgetown University Medical Center, Washington-DC, she started her academic career at the University of Milan.
In 2005 she was awarded with the Farmindustria Prize for the Excellence in Medicinal Chemistry Research.
She is author of over 100 papers on high impact international journals.
Her scientific interests include the development of neuroprotective agents acting on the glutamatergic system, the development of innovative chemo-enzymatic processes for the preparation of pharmaceutically interesting compounds with sustainable processes and the development of enzyme inhibitors for the treatment of infectious and cancer diseases, with a particular focus on the design of covalent chemical probes.
